The machine is equipped with electronic speed control. The winding speed can be optimally adapted to the working conditions within the speed ranges that can be preselected on pairs of stepped discs. A presettable counter for forward and backward counting in both working directions automatically switches the machine down to a slow speed shortly before the final number of turns or meter count if the meter counter is installed. This means that it stops exactly to the turn or cm when the set final number of turns or meters is reached. The setting of the laying feed is stepless and can be corrected during winding. The laying carriage can easily be guided by hand to any location by disengaging the laying feed. The counter bearing is easily adjustable.
