ATM 12

The ATM 8-12-16 pay-offs are multiple pay-off frames with up to 16 individual pay-off points designed as a compact assembly. Each pay-off unit works as a separate system. This means that up to 16 individual wires can be combined and rewound into one compartment (any number of individual wires in the compartment).

A constant wire pull-off force is achieved using a spring-loaded dancer system and an electronically controlled braking system. Hysteresis brakes are used as control brakes. The dancer position is recorded optoelectronically (optical sensor, distance measurement) and passed on to the braking control system, and a corresponding braking current is generated.

The controlled braking system enables high rewinding speeds with sufficient winding quality (fulfillment of the “sag test” also known as the “catenary test”, see technical data).
In the event of a wire break or wire end, a quick stop is carried out via a wire break circuit (all pay-off units in use are braked).
An “EMERGENCY STOP” is realized via a permanent magnet brake.
